Run to the Rescue 5K

Ready to make your steps count? Whether you're a competitive runner, a casual walker, or somewhere in between, you belong at our annual 5K fundraiser! Each year, this event brings our community together to celebrate local heroes and raise crucial funds for our public safety and emergency management students. By participating, you are directly investing in the education of future first responders who will one day keep our communities safe.

Cost


  • In-Person Participants: $50
  • Virtual Participants: $40
  • Students (FCC/FCPS): $30

All proceeds go towards the MACEM&PS Scholarship Fund to support students in the Legal & Public Safety academic programs at Frederick Community College.

On-site registration will be available through 9:45 a.m. on race day.

Race Swag


All participants will receive a 2027 race t-shirt at registration, and a collectible Run to the Rescue 2027 medal upon completing the course.

Legend

  • Black Star: Start/Finish of the race
  • Green Line: 5k race route
  • Red Line: end of 5k race route (overlaps with beginning of race route)

  • Participants must sign in at the check-in table prior to the start of the race. Check-in opens at 9:00 a.m. and closes at 9:45 a.m.
  • On-site registration will be available through 9:45 a.m. on race day.
  • All 5K participants must register and complete the liability waiver. Waivers must be submitted and on file with us before race check-in time.
  • Those ages 16 or younger are welcome to participate, but must be accompanied by a chaperone age 21 or above. They’ll also need a parent/guardian’s signature on the waiver.
  • Pets are not permitted.
  • Those planning to walk will be positioned to start after those who plan to run. Please follow the directions of event staff.

Rookie - $100

  • Name and logo on the race’s Start/Finish Line banner

Sergeant - $300

  • All rookie benefits, plus:
  • Signs with name and/or logo placed along the racecourse
  • Name and logo included on race t-shirt

Captain - $500

  • All Rookie and Sergeant benefits, plus:
  • Logo included in race promotion on social media/digital advertisements
  • 3 free race registrations for members of your organization

Chief - $1,000

  • All Rookie and Sergeant benefits, plus:
  • Logo included in race promotion on social media/digital advertisements
  • Sponsorship acknowledged during speeches at race event
  • 5 free race registrations for members of your organization
