Run to the Rescue 5K

Whether running, walking, or somewhere in between, everyone’s invited!

We’re hosting our third fundraising event – a 5K in honor of the brave folks who run to our rescue every day, and to benefit the students who’ll one day follow in their footsteps. We look forward to you joining us!

General Information

When & Where

The race will be held on Saturday, October 25th at 10:00AM, at Frederick Community College (7932 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702).

Look for Parking Lot 6, near Gambrill Hall!

What does it cost?

There’s a one-time registration fee of $50 for all participants. All the proceeds go towards our MACEM&PS Scholarship Fund!

For FCC and FCPS students, the cost is just $30 – be sure to select the “FCC/FCPS Student” ticket option when beginning to register.

Is there a prize?

All participants will receive a 2025 race t-shirt at registration, and a collectible RTTR 2025 medal when they finish the course. (Each year is a different design!)

Can I get last year’s prizes for my collection?

Previous years’ race t-shirts are not available, but you CAN earn the 2024 collectible medal by completing last year’s course virtually! Contact ebarr@frederick.edu to learn more.

5K Rules & Instructions

1. Participants must sign in at the check-in table prior to the start of the race. Check-in opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 9:45 AM.

2. On-site registration will be available through 9:45 AM on October 25th!

3. All 5K participants need to complete the Run to Rescue 5K liability waiver. Waivers must be submitted and on file with us before race check-in time.

4. Those ages 16 or younger are welcome to participate, but must be accompanied by a chaperone age 21 or above. (They’ll also need a parent/guardian’s signature on the waiver.)

5. Pets are not permitted. (We know, we love them too, but they can lead to safety risks in events like this with lots of moving parts.)

6. Those planning to walk will be positioned to start after those who plan to run. Please follow the directions of event staff as they get you sorted out and ready to go!
