Helping guide our programs is the MACEM&PS Advisory Council, a group of professionals, veterans, and experts drawn from all over the public safety and education disciplines. They make sure our programs remain compliant with Maryland’s educational regulations, but more importantly, they make sure that our programs serve the needs of our students once they graduate and walk out of FCC’s doors. Their advice and input informs course development ideas, forays into new topics, exploration of new partnerships, and more. And when they’re not doing all that (or their actual jobs), they also serve as advocates, sharing our projects and program offerings with their own networks and the public safety world at large.

The Advisory Council is actually made up of several smaller advisory committees – one for each major discipline or program we operate. Each committee designates some of its members to then represent it on the Advisory Council, where they can communicate their groups’ efforts, needs, and concerns to representatives of all the other committees – and us, of course!
